Gwalior Murder Shocker: Man Shoots Live-in Partner, Streams Killing on Facebook
Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, witnessed a chilling crime on September 12, when a man shot his live-in partner dead in broad daylight outside Roop Singh Stadium and streamed the act live on Facebook.
The accused, Arvind Thakur, a contractor, has been arrested. He fired 3–5 bullets at Nandini Kewat (also known as Parihar) at point-blank range after stopping her car near the busy stadium. Following the shooting, Arvind sat beside the body, brandishing his pistol and daring anyone to intervene. Police eventually overpowered him after firing tear gas shells.
Investigations have revealed a disturbing background. Arvind was already married to two women, while Nandini, reportedly in her fifth relationship, had a criminal history. In 2017, she was jailed for four-and-a-half years for murdering her third husband with the help of another lover in Datia, before being released in 2022.
Arvind and Nandini had secretly married at an Arya Samaj temple, despite both being already married. Their relationship soon turned violent, with multiple cases of assault, blackmail, and property disputes filed against each other.
Nandini had accused Arvind of sharing obscene videos, assaulting her with the help of another woman, and even attempting to run over her family. She had also demanded a share in his property. Just days before her death, on September 9, she lodged fresh complaints against him.
Arvind, in his Facebook live stream before the murder, accused Nandini of betrayal, blackmail, and attempts to seize his property. Police continue to investigate the chain of violence, deception, and revenge that culminated in this killing.
