Gorakhpur Horror: Woman Gunned Down by Husband Outside Photo Studio

 


Gorakhpur, UP: Panic gripped Jail Road in Shahpur on Wednesday night after a 30-year-old woman, Mamta Chauhan, was shot dead by her husband outside a photo studio around 8 p.m (03.09.2025) .


Eyewitnesses said the accused, Vishwakarma Chauhan, arrived on a motorcycle, argued with Mamta, then pulled a country-made pistol from his helmet and fired. He reportedly stood near the body for 25 minutes, repeating, “I was troubled by her,” until police detained him.


Locals rushed Mamta to Vinayak Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police confirmed the couple had been married for 15 years but separated for over a year due to property disputes.


SHO Neeraj Rai said Vishwakarma is in custody and under interrogation. The killing has reignited debate on domestic violence and illegal firearms in Uttar Pradesh.

Two Agniveer Soldiers Killed in Nashik Artillery Training Explosion, One Injured

  In a tragic incident at the Nashik Artillery Centre in Maharashtra, two Agniveer soldiers lost their lives when a shell exploded during a training exercise. The explosion, which occurred around noon on Thursday at the Shingwe Bahula firing range, happened while loading an artillery shell.  The deceased soldiers have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). Both were rushed to MH Hospital, Deolali, but were pronounced dead due to severe injuries caused by shell fragments. A third soldier is currently receiving treatment at an army hospital.  The jawans were recruits under the Army’s Agniveer scheme, and investigations are underway by both the police and the army to determine the cause of the explosion. A case has been registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station.
