Deoria Shock: Young Man in Burqa Caught Attempting to Meet Girl, Sparks Controversy

Deoria (Uttar Pradesh): A dramatic incident unfolded at the Chorkhari intersection in Deoria (on the bases of report September 22, 2025 ) when villagers discovered that a burqa-clad individual, initially believed to be a woman, was actually a young man named Suhel. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and heated reactions.

According to reports, villagers became suspicious due to Suhel’s behaviour and voice. Upon confrontation and removal of the veil, Suhel admitted that he wore the burqa to conceal his identity while meeting a Hindu girl with whom he had studied. The revelation sparked outrage, with some locals accusing him of attempting to mislead the community and linking the incident to claims of so-called ‘love jihad’.

Police were alerted, and SHO Ranjeet Singh Bhadauria arrived with a force to control the situation. Suhel has been taken into custody for questioning. The SHO confirmed that further legal action will depend on a formal complaint from the girl’s family, which has not yet been filed.

Authorities are now investigating the nature of Suhel’s relationship with the girl, whether this was his first such meeting, and the reasons behind wearing the burqa. The girl and her family have not publicly commented, keeping the case in its preliminary stage.
