Dead Rat in Paneer Sabzi: Badaun Dhaba Sparks Food Safety Uproar

Badaun, UP: What began as a routine meal turned into shock when diners at Anmol Dhaba in Bilsi town found a dead rat in their paneer sabzi. The incident, which occurred on 27 August, has triggered outrage after a video of the rodent in the dish went viral on social media.

Nishant Maheshwari and his friend Puneet, both residents of Bilsi, said they had eaten half the plate before noticing the carcass. They confronted the dhaba staff, who apologised and tried to settle the matter on the spot.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Prem Pal Singh confirmed the administration has seen the video. Officials will collect food samples for testing, and checks on other eateries have been ordered. Bilsi Kotwal Manoj Kumar Singh stated no formal complaint has yet been filed but assured action once received.

The viral clip has raised serious questions over hygiene at roadside eateries, with locals demanding strict enforcement of food safety rules.
