Cuddalore Woman Arrested for Pouring Boiling Oil on Husband After Job Dispute


Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu: A 30-year-old woman, K. Divya Bharathi, was arrested near Kattumannarkoil for allegedly pouring boiling oil on her husband during a domestic quarrel.


Police said Bharathi attacked her husband, C. Kannan (41), after repeated arguments over her desire to work at a local rice mill, which Kannan opposed. On Wednesday, following another quarrel, Kannan went to sleep while Bharathi was boiling oil for cooking. She allegedly carried the vessel into the room and poured it on his legs.


Kannan, who runs a borewell-digging unit, sustained burn injuries below the knees and was rushed by neighbours to the Kattumannarkoil government hospital, where doctors said his condition is stable.


Bharathi has been booked under three sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are continuing investigations.

Two Agniveer Soldiers Killed in Nashik Artillery Training Explosion, One Injured

  In a tragic incident at the Nashik Artillery Centre in Maharashtra, two Agniveer soldiers lost their lives when a shell exploded during a training exercise. The explosion, which occurred around noon on Thursday at the Shingwe Bahula firing range, happened while loading an artillery shell.  The deceased soldiers have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). Both were rushed to MH Hospital, Deolali, but were pronounced dead due to severe injuries caused by shell fragments. A third soldier is currently receiving treatment at an army hospital.  The jawans were recruits under the Army’s Agniveer scheme, and investigations are underway by both the police and the army to determine the cause of the explosion. A case has been registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station.
