Bandra Woman Harassed in Broad Daylight, Questions Suburb’s Safety
Bandra, Mumbai: A woman in her early 30s has recounted a terrifying incident of street harassment in Bandra, sparking concern among residents and online users. Writing on Reddit under the title “Never expected Bandra to be Unsafe. Rant,” she said a man grabbed and groped her on a crowded, well-lit road around 7:45 pm while she was running errands.
The woman, who emphasised dressing modestly, said the harassment was not an isolated event. She reported being followed home multiple times and catcalled in the past months. In the latest incident, she screamed and hit the man with her tote bag until he released her and apologised repeatedly.
She later updated the location to near Peace Haven bungalow on Perry Cross Road. The post drew widespread reactions, with many users sharing similar experiences and urging her to report the matter to the police. As of now, no formal complaint or arrests have been confirmed.
The incident has reignited debates about public safety for women in Bandra, a bustling suburb frequented by shoppers and office-goers.
