Amethi Shock: Husband Marries Off Wife to Lover in Temple to Avoid Dispute


A bizarre case has surfaced in Amethi’s Kamarouli area, where a newlywed husband married off his wife to her lover to avoid social disputes.


Shivshankar of Dina Ka Purwa married Uma Prajapati on 2 March 2025. But Uma continued her affair with her old lover even after marriage. Despite efforts to convince her, she insisted on staying with her lover.


Fearing conflict and drastic consequences, Shivshankar took Uma to a temple in Jagdishpur, where he performed her marriage with her lover, applying sindoor and garlands, and sent her away.


The unusual incident has become a major topic of discussion in the region, with locals calling it both shocking and an example of avoiding social unrest.

A 26-year-old soldier from Prayagraj has been arrested for murdering his minor girlfriend after she insisted that he marry her. Police said the accused, identified as Harshvardhan Singh alias Deepak, strangled and stabbed the girl before burying her body in an orchard in Lakhranwa village. Greater Noida – In a shocking incident in Roza Jalalpur under Bisrakh police station, a 22-year-old man brutally killed his wife and six-year-old brother-in-law with a stone before hanging himself on Monday evening. Police identified the accused as Pappu Lal, a resident of Gajraula, Pilibhit. He had been living at his in-laws’ house for the past ten days. On the day of the incident, his father-in-law and mother-in-law were at work, while Pappu, his wife Jaswanti (21), and her younger brother Tej Prakash (6) were at home.
