Agra Shock: Man Found Bound in Car Trunk After Family Dispute, Police Rescue Amid Scuffle

Agra (U.P.): A dramatic case of domestic discord turned violent unfolded in Kheria village, Khandauli, where a man was rescued from the trunk of a car after being allegedly abducted and tied up by his brothers-in-law.

Police said they intercepted the vehicle near Padraw village on the Agra–Hathras road after an alert was raised. On opening the trunk, officers found Hardev Singh with his hands and feet bound, gagged with a cloth. A scuffle erupted between relatives and police before the situation was brought under control. Two suspects were taken into custody.

Hardev, who has been married to Lakshmi of Hathras for 25 years, alleged that her family has long been pressuring him over property, sparking repeated quarrels. He claimed that on Thursday morning, while he was praying, brothers-in-law Rajpal, Satyapal and Dharmveer, along with two others, tied him up and forced him into the car.

Rajpal disputed the charges, telling police that Hardev had severely beaten their sister, who needed hospitalisation, and that they were taking him to the police when he resisted.

A video of the incident, showing Hardev bound inside the trunk, has since gone viral. DCP (West) Atul Sharma confirmed there is a long-standing marital dispute. A case has been registered based on Hardev’s complaint, and further investigation is underway.
