8 Dead, 25 Injured as Truck Rams into Ganesh Immersion Procession in Hassan

 


Hassan (Karnataka):

A Ganesh idol immersion procession turned tragic in Mosale Hosahalli village, Hassan district, when a truck lost control and rammed into devotees on Friday night.


🔴 Casualties:

 ● At least 8 people killed (5 on the spot, 3 at hospitals)

 ● 25 others injured, 18 admitted to Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), others in private hospitals


🔴 Cause:

Police said the truck, traveling on NH-373, lost control while trying to avoid a motorbike. The driver, who was also injured, has been taken into custody.


🔴 Reactions:

 ● CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar expressed deep grief and announced ₹5 lakh compensation for each victim’s family.

 ● The state government will bear medical expenses of the injured.

 ● Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy also called the mishap “horrific” and urged free treatment.


Villagers reported chaotic scenes as the truck ploughed into the crowd amid DJ music during the immersion. Shocking visuals of the accident have surfaced.

Two Agniveer Soldiers Killed in Nashik Artillery Training Explosion, One Injured

  In a tragic incident at the Nashik Artillery Centre in Maharashtra, two Agniveer soldiers lost their lives when a shell exploded during a training exercise. The explosion, which occurred around noon on Thursday at the Shingwe Bahula firing range, happened while loading an artillery shell.  The deceased soldiers have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). Both were rushed to MH Hospital, Deolali, but were pronounced dead due to severe injuries caused by shell fragments. A third soldier is currently receiving treatment at an army hospital.  The jawans were recruits under the Army’s Agniveer scheme, and investigations are underway by both the police and the army to determine the cause of the explosion. A case has been registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station.
