Hyderabad/Medak: In a chilling case of child murder, a 23-year-old mother from Shabashpally village, Shivampet mandal, Medak district has confessed to killing her two-year-old daughter because the toddler’s constant crying at night was “disturbing” her and her lover.


The crime occurred on June 4, but remained hidden for months. It came to light only after the child’s disappearance triggered an investigation that exposed the shocking truth.


Police said the accused, Mamatha (23), along with her partner Shaik Fayaz (30), strangled the child in the night and buried her near a nala on the village outskirts. On Friday, authorities exhumed the remains and conducted a post-mortem.


Mamatha’s father, Kotla Raju, had lodged a missing complaint on May 27 after she visited his house on May 21 with both her children but left the same day with the younger daughter and never returned. Despite desperate searches by the family, Mamatha remained untraceable until the police cracked the case.


Both Mamatha and Fayaz have been arrested and are in custody.

Two Agniveer Soldiers Killed in Nashik Artillery Training Explosion, One Injured

  In a tragic incident at the Nashik Artillery Centre in Maharashtra, two Agniveer soldiers lost their lives when a shell exploded during a training exercise. The explosion, which occurred around noon on Thursday at the Shingwe Bahula firing range, happened while loading an artillery shell.  The deceased soldiers have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). Both were rushed to MH Hospital, Deolali, but were pronounced dead due to severe injuries caused by shell fragments. A third soldier is currently receiving treatment at an army hospital.  The jawans were recruits under the Army’s Agniveer scheme, and investigations are underway by both the police and the army to determine the cause of the explosion. A case has been registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station.
