Jhansi Horror: Ex-Pradhan Kills Lover, Chops Body Into 7 Pieces

Jhansi – A gruesome murder case has shaken Uttar Pradesh after police uncovered the killing of 35-year-old Rachna Yadav, whose body was cut into seven pieces by her lover.

On 9 August, former Maheva village Pradhan Sanjay Patel, along with his nephew Sandeep Patel and aide Pradeep alias Deepak Ahirwar, strangled Rachna in a car after she allegedly pressured Sanjay for marriage. The trio then took the body near Kishorpura village, where they dismembered it into seven parts.

Three sacks containing torso parts were dumped in a well, while the head, legs and other remains were thrown into Lakheri river, 7 km away. Bricks were packed in the sacks to prevent them from surfacing.

On 13 August, a farmer noticed a foul smell from his well and alerted police. Two sacks containing body parts were recovered, sparking panic in the area. Later, one hand was also found, but the body could not be identified initially and was cremated after postmortem.

Following a massive probe involving 18 police teams, investigators traced the missing woman to be Rachna Yadav of Malwara village, Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh). Based on leads, police arrested Sanjay Patel and his nephew Sandeep Patel. On their confession, Rachna’s head and remaining parts were recovered from the river. The third accused, Pradeep, is still absconding.

Rachna, who had two failed marriages, was reportedly in a two-year relationship with Sanjay Patel and had also taken large sums of money from him. After her husband Shivraj Yadav’s death two months ago, she insisted Sanjay marry her, which allegedly triggered the brutal murder.

Sanjay Patel and Sandeep Patel have been sent to jail.
