Agra Woman Threatens Suicide, Levels Allegations Against Police – Officials Call Claims False

Agra: A serious dispute has emerged between a local woman and Trans Yamuna Police. The complainant, Sarju Yadav of Kalindi Vihar, alleged that police ignored a theft case at her house and behaved indecently with her. She claimed that if justice is not delivered, she may take her own life, holding the station staff and Inspector-in-Charge responsible. She also accused suspended inspector Rajkumar Goswami, earlier linked to her case, of misconduct.

Police, however, have given a different version. On 19 August 2025, when Sarju Yadav visited the station to inquire about her case (Crime No. 370/24), officials informed her that the matter had been closed in January. According to police, she then began videography inside the station, and when stopped, allegedly abused and misbehaved with the lady sub-inspector at the women’s help desk.

Officials said that despite repeated persuasion, she continued creating disturbance, attempted self-harm, and was challaned under Sections 126/135/170 BNS before being produced in court. Police termed her allegations “baseless and false.”
