12-Year-Old Crushed to Death as Boulder Hits House in Rain-Hit Uttarakhand

Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand – A 12-year-old boy was killed and four of his family members injured after a massive boulder crashed into their house in Devat village around 1:50 am on Tuesday.

Rescue teams from the police, Fire Department, and SDRF rushed to the spot and recovered the child’s body after clearing debris. The injured family members sustained minor wounds.

Police said the boulder rolled down from a hill, breaking the house wall while the family was asleep. Heavy rains over the past few days have triggered multiple such incidents in the state.

Authorities have also restricted access to ghats near Laxman Jhula amid rising water levels in the Ganga.
