Uttarakhand: Over 7 Lakh Devotees Visit Kedarnath Dham Since May 10

The revered Kedarnath Dham has seen a significant influx of devotees, with numbers surpassing 7 lakh as of June 6. According to the District Magistrate of Rudraprayag, 710,698 pilgrims have journeyed to the world-famous 11th Jyotirlinga Kedarnath Dham in just 28 days since May 10.

The Uttarakhand government has mandated registration for all pilgrims participating in the Chardham Yatra. On May 22, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi issued an advisory for mandatory registration. Offline registration has been paused in Haridwar and Rishikesh, so devotees must now register online and travel on their scheduled date.

On June 2 alone, more than 19,000 pilgrims visited Shri Kedarnath Dham, bringing the total to over 6 lakh. Official data reports that 19,484 pilgrims, including 12,857 men, 6,323 women, and 304 children, visited the temple.

The assistance provided by the Rudraprayag police has ensured a smooth and seamless darshan experience for devotees. The Rudraprayag police stated on their official X handle that security personnel are deployed to ensure cooperation and maintain safety, advising devotees to complete their registration before the Yatra.

In related news, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that registration facilities will also be started for 'Kainchi Dham,' a secluded mountain ashram known as Neem Karoli Baba's ashram in the Nainital district. This announcement came during a review meeting of the 'Char Dham' Yatra and other matters. CM Dhami, who visited Badrinath on June 1, reviewed the arrangements and noted that the yatra is proceeding in a very systematic manner.

The Hindu pilgrimage Char Dham circuit consists of four sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Pilgrimage season peaks in Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra annually during the summer.
