Two Militants Neutralized in Pulwama Encounter

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district successfully neutralized two militants during a cordon and search operation on Monday. Acting on specific intelligence, the operation was initiated in the Nihama area of the district.

According to police officials, the encounter ensued when militants opened fire on the search party, prompting a retaliatory response from the security forces. Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, V K Birdhi confirmed the demise of the two militants in the exchange of fire.

The identities and affiliations of the slain terrorists are currently under investigation. This incident marks the second recent encounter triggered by militant aggression during search operations in the region.

In a related development last month, security forces engaged in a similar encounter resulting in the neutralization of a terrorist in Pulwama. The deceased was identified as Danish Aijaz Sheikh, aged 34, and a resident of Alnoor Colony, Ellahibagh in Srinagar.
