Road Fight Exposes Sex Racket in Aligarh, 15 Arrested
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh:
A sex racket operating in Aligarh was busted after police intervened in a fight between two girls on a public road. During questioning, the incident led police to uncover an organised prostitution network, following which raids were conducted on two hotels in the Bannadevi police station area.
During the operation, police arrested 15 people — 8 men and 7 women — from Chauhan Complex Skyway Hotel and Maraki Hotel. The accused were found in objectionable conditions.
According to police, the racket was being run by hotel owners Ravindra Singh Anand, Rahul Vashishtha and Shubham Sharma. Women involved in the racket were reportedly brought from Jharkhand and Delhi.
Police registered FIR No. 33/2026 under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act at Bannadevi Police Station.
Recoveries made during the raid include:
₹58,070 cash, 17 mobile phones, 2 visitor registers, 5 ATM cards, a QR code scanner, a swipe machine, 35 visiting cards, 3 press ID cards, Aadhaar cards, a driving licence, one Verna car and a Hero Splendor motorcycle, along with a large quantity of objectionable material.
Police also confirmed that key accused Ravindra Singh Anand, Rahul Vashishtha and Shubham Sharma have prior criminal records.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior police officials, and further investigation is underway to trace wider links of the racket.
