IIIT Raipur Student Arrested for Using AI to Create Obscene Images of 36 Female Students

Raipur (Chhattisgarh): In a shocking revelation, the Rakhi police have arrested a student from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Nava Raipur, for allegedly using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create pornographic images and reels of 36 female students from his own college.

The accused, Syed Rahim Adnan Ali, a 20-year-old second-year B.Tech student in Electronics and Communication Engineering, reportedly captured pictures of female students during parties and other occasions. Using these images, he generated obscene AI-morphed content, which he stored on his laptop and mobile phones.

The incident came to light after the victims and their families filed complaints with the police. The IIIT management initially informed authorities that an internal inquiry was underway by a three-member women staff committee. Later, the institute submitted a written complaint, prompting the police to register a formal FIR.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 66B of the IT Act (criminal misuse of computer resources) and Section 352 of the Indian Penal Code (intentionally insulting to provoke breach of peace). The accused, a resident of Bilaspur, is now in police custody while the investigation continues.

Additional SP Vivek Shukla stated that all the devices containing the obscene AI-generated content have been seized. The case has sparked outrage over the misuse of AI technology and the safety of women in educational institutions.
